The Association of Ferry Shipping and Ferry Tourism (VFF) is launching an exciting campaign: Germany’s first ferry ambassador is being sought! The winner will have the unique opportunity to travel through Europe for a year free of charge on the Ferries of the VFF route network – whether on the North Sea, the Baltic Sea or the Mediterranean.

With this campaign, the VFF wants to raise awareness of sustainable travel by Ferries. The ferry ambassador can explore new destinations, experience breathtaking coastal landscapes and discover the variety of ferry connections. The campaign is aimed at anyone with a creative personality, a thirst for adventure and a passion for travel – with or without social media experience.

How can you become a ferry ambassador?

Participation is very simple: interested parties apply with a short social media post in which they introduce themselves and show their enthusiasm for traveling by Ferries. A jury will select the most creative applications. “We are looking for authentic travelers, not professional influencers. Our aim is to show how versatile Ferries are as a means of travel,” explains Steffen Schiemann, Managing Director of the VFF.

Attractive prizes worth more than 10,000 euros

Ten European shipping companies are supporting the campaign and providing almost 30 ferry trips as well as vouchers for accommodation, petrol stations and sightseeing experiences. This will make the trip even more exciting. The total value of the prizes amounts to over 10,000 euros, making this initiative an extraordinary highlight.

Which Ferries can I use free of charge in one year?

You can take advantage of all this during one year – 26 ferry crossings, 1 mini-cruise plus lots of extras:

• 1 x return trip with FRS Helgoline to Heligoland including catering on board
• 1 x return trip (vehicle + passengers) with FRS Syltfähre from Havneby (Rømø) to List on Sylt including catering on board
• 1 x crossing with the Ferries between Kiel and Gothenburg with Stena Line for 2 adults and 2 children children in an inside cabin with vehicle (up to 8 meters)
• 1 x day crossing with the Ferries between Rostock and Trelleborg with Stena Line for 2 adults and 2 children with vehicle (up to 8 meters)
• 1 x Ferry crossing from Travemünde to Helsinki with Finnlines for 2 persons in an outside cabin with vehicle (up to 8 m in length) and including meal package
