Can I go back to my car during the crossing?
You are not allowed to walk freely on the car deck while the ship is sailing. The crew will lock the entrances. Therefore, be sure to take all important items—such as medications and valuables—directly out of your vehicle.
Also, make a note of your parking level and the nearest staircase. Separate visiting hours apply for pet visits.
How much luggage can I bring on the Ferry?
You may bring up to 50 kilograms or 0.5 cubic meters of luggage per person. Luggage left in the vehicle is counted separately.
Furniture, large boxes, and especially large suitcases are treated as cargo by Color Line. Please clarify such shipments directly with the shipping company in advance.
Can I plug my cooler into the power outlet during the crossing?
You cannot connect your cooler or refrigerator in the vehicle to the ship’s power supply. This also applies to other personal devices on the car deck.
However, Color Fantasy and Color Magic have their own freezers for your refrigerated items. You’ll need to take your items there yourself. Check with Color Line in advance to make sure there’s enough space for your food.
Will I be charged for using my cell phone on the Ferry?
At sea, your cell phone uses the Telenor Maritime cellular network. This incurs charges for calls and mobile data.
Check with your cell phone provider in advance about rates on ships. Don’t rely on your international plan there.
Airplane mode disables cellular connectivity. You can then turn on Wi-Fi separately and use it as needed.
Can I pay with euros on board?
You can pay with euros on the Color Fantasy and the Color Magic. The ships also accept Norwegian kroner.
Therefore, you don’t need to exchange money for your purchases on board. If needed, the staff will tell you the ship’s current exchange rate.
Where can I park my car while I'm visiting Kiel?
At the Color Line terminal, you’ll find paid parking spaces for both short and long trips. Color Line refers customers to Portparking for reservable parking spaces.
Check the price and the permitted vehicle dimensions. Allow time to walk from the parking lot to the check-in area. Do not leave any valuables in plain sight in unguarded parking lots.
Can I eat vegetarian or vegan meals on board?
The Oceanic à la carte restaurant offers several vegetarian dishes. Upon request, the kitchen can prepare many of them as vegan options.
If you make a reservation for your meal in advance, please call Color Line to let them know your preferences. If you have any allergies, please confirm suitable meal options in advance as well. Be sure to speak with the restaurant staff before placing your order.
