The shipping company FRS Helgoline has been offering ferry connections to the offshore island of Heligoland for 35 years. The company is a subsidiary of Förde Reederei Seetouristik(FRS) based in Flensburg. The Halunder Jet, a modern and comfortable high-speed catamaran, is used on the route across the German Bight to Heligoland.

At high speed to Germany's only high seas island

The Halunder Jet catamaran can accommodate 690 passengers. For the crossing, you can choose from four different seat categories: Jet Class, Panorama Class, Premium Class and VIP Class. You can enjoy the view of the Elbe and North Sea either through large panoramic windows or from the spacious open deck. The catering service at every seat and the option of duty-free shopping provide extra comfort. For passengers with reduced mobility, there is an elevator, wheelchair spaces and disabled WCs. Dogs can generally be carried, but both leash and muzzle requirements apply on board. The latter can be rented on site for a fee. Please also note that dogs must be kept on a lead on the main island and that dogs are not allowed on the island of Düne.

Major FRS Helgoline ferry routes

From Hamburg, Cuxhaven and Brunsbüttel there is a daily service to Heligoland. The connection is offered only seasonally in the period from the end of March to the end of October. The crossing from Hamburg takes 3 hours and 45 minutes, from Cuxhaven the journey time is correspondingly shorter at 1 hour and 15 minutes.
