New Ferries from Emden to Norway?
Emden would be better than Eemshaven for Holland Norway Lines (HNL)
The Dutch ferry company Holland Norway Lines (HNL), which has been offering a direct ferry connection between Eemshaven and Kristiansand in Norway since last year, is facing major problems in its home port. According to a report in the trade magazine HANSA, HNL is considering pulling out of Eemshaven because the port is increasingly dominated by offshore activities and the Ferries are receiving less and less space and service.

New Ferries from Emden to Norway?
A possible alternative for HNL would be the German port of Emden, which is only 30 kilometers from Eemshaven and has good transport links. Emden already has experience with ferry connections to Norway and could benefit from a new service. The city has apparently already contacted HNL and expressed interest.
HNL has not yet made a final decision, but the situation in Eemshaven does not seem to be improving. The ferry company is hoping for a quick solution so that it can continue to offer its passengers a comfortable and reliable crossing to Norway.

The shipping company had originally announced that it would provide more information at the end of February, but its website is now talking about the end of March.
