The shipping company Hansa Destinations (Hansalinjen) was founded in spring 2021. It is an offshoot of Rederi Gotland AB and thus a sister company of the Destination Gotland shipping company.
Since August 2021, the shipping company has been operating initially with one and later with two Ferries on the route between Rostock (Germany) and Nynäshamn near Stockholm (Sweden). In the high season, it also calls at the port of Visby on the island of Gotland several times a week.

Hansa Destinatons Ferry MS Drotten
Hansa Destinations shipping company is a subsidiary of AB Gotland shipping company. The Ferry MS Drotten was originally designed for freight traffic between Gotland and the mainland. Following conversion work, it now also offers passengers a comfortable way to travel between Germany and Sweden. The focus is still on the transportation of freight and the goal of achieving Sweden’s climate targets. After all, up to 75,000 truckloads are transported by sea on the route between Rostock and Nynäshamn every year, which corresponds to a reduction in emissions of up to 20 percent compared to the land route – including the Swedish government’s eco bonus!
High-quality, comfortable and reliable from Germany to Sweden
The MS Drotten can accommodate up to 1,400 passengers. A limited number of 2- and 4-berth cabins, which can be booked with or without sea view, offer a comfortable crossing. Special cabins are available for wheelchair users and travelers with pets. Alternatively, it is possible to book a numbered deck chair, which is available throughout the crossing. WI-FI may not be available on the high seas, and travelers may also have to do without a specific entertainment program, as the crossing is primarily for cargo transport. An on-board store offers the opportunity to buy snacks, drinks or magazines.
The Food Market restaurant caters to guests, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can enjoy a good glass of wine in a pleasant atmosphere in the lounge area on the aft deck. During the summer season, the open-air bar offers you an alternative in the open air. Pets are expressly welcome on board and spend the crossing either on the car deck (with visiting and walking times) or in specially equipped pet cabins. In addition, the MS Drotten has an outdoor area where dogs can be walked.
