New Zealand’s capital Wellington is small but mighty. It is located in the south of the North Island and is surrounded by sea and rainforest. Worth seeing are the Waterfront, the government quarter, the National Museum and the Botanical Gardens. The latter can be reached by cable car and offers a beautiful view over the city. If you would like to visit Bilbo Baggins’ house, you should go to Matamata.

Entry requirements
EU citizens need a passport to enter New Zealand. All travel documents must be valid for one month beyond the planned date of departure. A visa is not required for stays of up to three months, but a return or onward flight ticket must be presented on request.
