Port Travemünde

As a district of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, Travemünde is known for its promenade, which follows the River Trave to its mouth in the Baltic Sea. The Old Lighthouse from 1539, which now houses a maritime museum, can be seen from afar. The New Lighthouse, which is housed on the 36th floor of the Maritim high-rise, is more modern. The old town is home to historic buildings such as the St. Lawrence Church and the Old Bailiwick dating back to 1551.
