The shipping company Irish Ferries

The shipping company Irish Ferries is based in Dublin and connects Ireland, Wales and France on three ferry routes. In 1974 Irish Shipping Limited, Fearnley & Eger and Lion Ferry A/B joined forces and laid the foundations for a successful company. Today the fleet consists of five ships. The “Ulysses” is one of the largest car ferries in the world in terms of vehicle capacity, offering space for up to 1,342 cars.

The ferries routes from Ireland to Wales offer travelers brasseries, cafés and bars. Great deals and a wide selection of perfumes, clothing, gifts and souvenirs await you in the on-board shop. In addition, free wifi, outdoor deck and children’s playground guarantee a relaxing crossing. On board the Ulysses you will also find an on-board cinema.

Two ferries are in operation on the route from Dublin to Cherbourg. They also offer small snacks, sandwiches and hot meals with a restaurant, brasserie and café. In addition, a shop and free W-LAN await you. On board the W. B. Yates, you can look forward to a good movie in the cinema.
If you wish, you can start your journey relaxing in a seating lounge with windows, a comfortable cabin or a luxury suite. Here you have the choice from various categories. Cabins are also available for people with reduced mobility, allowing for carefree travel. Pets are welcome on board and travel comfortably in the car or in pre-bookable kennels.

Important Irish Ferries ferry connections

Irish Ferries operates four ferry connections. The route from Dublin to Holyhead (Wales) takes 3 hours 15 mins and there are up to 4 crossings per day. The RosslarePembroke (Wales) route takes 4 hours and operates twice daily. At 19 hours, the crossing from Dublin to Cherbourg (France) is the longest and takes place four times a week.
Another new service is the ferry connection from Calais to Dover.
