The Eckerö Linjen shipping company

Eckerö Linjen was founded in 1961 and is part of the Eckerö Group based in Mariehamn on Åland. The aim at the time was to create a direct link between Åland and the Swedish mainland. With this route, the shipping company laid the foundation for what is now an integral part of the transport connections in the northern Baltic Sea region. Eckerö Linjen is a subsidiary of Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö, which operates other maritime services, including Eckerö Line on the Helsinki – Tallinn route. Since its foundation, Eckerö Linjen has been a reliable connection between Åland and Sweden, which is used for both passenger and vehicle traffic.
