Holiday in Sardinia
With white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, picturesque villages and impressive culture, Sardinia promises a varied vacation. The scent of pine, culinary delights and “Dolce Vita” included!
TOP excursion destinations in Sardinia
In the far south, Sardinia’s capital Cagliari is waiting to be discovered. A wide variety of cultures have left a colorful mix of styles here, which is reflected in the city’s many sights. Especially the old town Castello inspires with thick city walls, towers, gates, narrow streets, cathedral, town hall and bastion.
In Cagliari, visitors can also embark on a journey into the Roman past. Here you can visit the Roman amphitheatre and the villa of Tigellio.
The charming port city of Olbia delights with a picturesque old town and a fantastic beach. The Romanesque church dates back to the 11th century, the town hall shines in yellow and the lively shopping street Corso Umberto invites you to go on a shopping spree.
You can experience a truly “colourful” excursion in the small town of Bosa. The facades of the baroque and classicist houses shine in bright colours. From the Castello there is a beautiful view over the city, the river and the sea.
The first nuraghi were built in Sardinia as early as two millennia before Christ. The stone towers can be found all over the island. Particularly worth seeing are the Su Nuraxi and Romanzesu complexes. The National Archaeological Museum in Cagliari provides information about the prehistoric Nuragic culture.
In the necropolis of Tuvixeddu, visitors marvel at several thousand rock tombs. They date from the 6th to the 3rd century BC. By the way, translated into German Turvixeddu means “perforated area”.
The Neptune Cave is a stalactite cave near Alghero. It lies only a few meters above sea level and is therefore only accessible when the sea is calm. It is reached via an imposing staircase with 654 steps. In the cave can be visited a few hundred meters and a salt water lake.
The Molentargius Saline San ctuary offers the fascinating opportunity to observe pink flamingos in their natural habitat.
La Madellana is a small group of islands between Sardinia and Corsica. It consists of 62 islands and is very popular for its beautiful beaches and turquoise sea. Here it is wonderful to swim, snorkel and dive. And only here you will find a pink beach!
