Port Ystad
The Swedish town of Ystad welcomes its guests in a colourful way. The half-timbered houses here are medieval and pastel-coloured. Over cobblestones you walk through cosy alleys to the market place with town hall and church. Ystad offers a Franciscan monastery from the 12th century and a 40 kilometre long sandy beach. Of particular archaeological interest are “The Stones of Ale”. Ystad became famous all over the world through the novel Inspector Wallander. Those interested can follow in his footsteps on a Wallander tour, including his home at Mariagatan 10.
