The volcanic island of Pantelleria lies 100 kilometres southwest of Sicily. It is 13 kilometres long and eight kilometres wide. Most of the inhabitants live in the main town of Pantelleria Centro. They like to meet at the harbour promenade – directly at the Castello Barbacane. A trip leads to the “Mirror of Venus”. The turquoise inland lake is fed by a hot spring and invites you to a relaxing day of swimming.

Travel information
Arrival by car
There are no highways on Pantelleria, but the island is well served by roads to get to the Pantellaria ferry port:
- From the southwest (Scauri): ferry north along Perimetrale Street and follow the signs to the harbor in Pantellaria.
- From the southeast (Khamma): also drive north on Perimetrale Street and follow the signs to the ferry port.
Arrival by bus & train
There are no rail connections to Pantelleria. The island is small and can be easily explored by island bus or cab.
Arrival by plane
Pantelleria Airport (PNL) is about 5 kilometers from the ferry port. You can take a cab or hire a car from the airport to the ferry port.
