Travel information
Arrival by car
You can reach the Toyapakeh ferry port via the island’s main roads. For example, if you are coming from the Crystal Bay region, follow the paved road via Sakti and Ped directly to Toyapakeh. If you are coming from Atuh Beach or the eastern half of the island, take the road via Suana and Batununggul. Note that the roads are usually narrow, winding and in varying conditions. Ferries carefully and plan enough time.
Arrival by bus or train
There are no public bus or train connections to Nusa Penida. Transportation is usually by private scooter, rental car with driver or local cab.
Arrival by plane
There is no airport on Nusa Penida. The first way to get there is via Ngurah Rai Airport on Bali. From there, take a car or cab to one of the jetties, for example in Sanur, Kusamba or Padang Bai, and take a speedboat to Nusa Penida. Depending on the route, the boats dock at Toyapakeh, Banjar Nyuh, Sampalan or other piers.
