Port Las Palmas (Gran Canaria)
The Canary Island Gran Canaria is known far beyond its borders for its beautiful beaches and its lively holiday centres like Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas or Las Palmas. Outside the busy centres it quickly becomes quieter. A unique dune landscape opens up to visitors just behind Maspalomas beach, visitors can descend 170 meters from the edge of the Caldera de Bandama into a volcanic crater and the 1949-metre-high Pico de las Nieves is even covered in snow on some winter days. If you are driving a rental car on Gran Canaria, you can enjoy steep serpentines, picturesque coastal roads and small mountain and fishing villages.
