Port Bilbao
The largest city in the Basque Country is known for its Guggenheim Museum, the Zubizuri pedestrian bridge over the Rio Nervión and the Museo de Bellas Artes with works by Goya, Cranach and El Greco. Arrival by car
How to reach the ferry port of Bilbao in Spain by car:
- From the west (e.g. Santander): Follow the highway A8 / N634 in a south-easterly direction. Take exit 132 (Zierbena) and follow the signs to the ferry port.
- From the south (e.g. Zaragoza): Ferry northwest on the AP68 highway until you reach Bilbao. At Bilbao, change to the A8 highway in the direction of Santander. Take exit 131 (Zierbena) and follow the signs to the harbor.
- From the north (e.g. Le Havre): Ferries first south on the A28 and from Tours on the A10 to Bordeaux. From there, continue south on the A63 to Biriatou. Ferries then head west on the AP-8 to Bilbao. In Bilbao, change to the A8 highway in the direction of Santander. Take exit 131 (Zierbena) and follow the signs to the harbor.
Arrival by bus & train
There are regular bus connections from Bilbao city center to the Zierbena ferry port. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the train to Zierbena and then walk to the harbor.
Arrival by plane
Bilbao Airport (BIO) is the nearest airport. From the airport, you can take a cab or the public bus to Bilbao city center and then use the bus connection to the ferry port.
