The port city of Belize City is not very touristy and is separated into northern and southern parts by the mouth of Haulover Creek. A mechanically operated swing bridge connects both parts of the city. The National Museum deals with the history of the country and exhibits numerous Mayan exhibits. Fascinating culture and unique nature can be experienced on an excursion to the Mayan ruins of Lamanai and Altun Ha or to the reefs and cayes off the coast.

Arrival by car
There are no highways in Belize. You can reach the Belize City ferry port by car via various roads:
- From the north (e.g. Orange Walk): Ferries on the Northern Highway in the direction of Belize City. Follow the signs to the ferry port.
- From the west (e.g. San Ignacio): Take the Western Highway in the direction of Belize City. Then turn off onto the Philip Goldson Highway and follow the signs to the ferry port.
- From the south (e.g. Dangriga): Ferries on the Southern Highway in the direction of Belize City. Follow the signs to the ferry port.
Arrival by bus & train
Public bus transportation in Belize is limited, but there are buses that reach Belize City from various locations in the country. The largest bus station is located in Belize City, from where you can reach the ferry port. There are no rail connections in Belize.
Arrival by plane
The Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) is the largest airport in Belize and is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Belize City. From the airport, you can take a cab or shuttle bus to the ferry port.
