You can easily reach Bangsal, a small harbor in the northwest of Lombok, by Ferry from various points, including Padang Bai on Bali. Bangsal serves as the main access point to the enchanting Gili Islands: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. Despite its proximity to these paradisiacal islands, Bangsal is mainly a transit point. Please note that there can sometimes be harassment from pushy salespeople in the harbor area. How to reach the ferry port of Bangsal on Lombok by car. As Lombok has no highways, the ferry port of Bangsal can be reached via the island’s country roads:
- From Mataram: Ferry north on Jl. Ahmad Yani and then follow the signs to Bangsal harbor.
- From Senggigi: Drive north on Jl. Raya Senggigi and then turn off onto Jl. Bangsal to get to the ferry port.
- From Kuta Lombok: Ferry along Jl. Bypass BIL Mandalika to Mataram and follow the description above.
Arrival by bus & train
There are buses that connect different places on Lombok. You can take a bus that goes in the direction of Bangsal. For the exact departure times and stops, please check on site.
Arrival by plane
