Port Ajaccio (Corsica)
The history of the Corsican capital Ajaccio is closely linked to the life of Napoleon Bonaparte. Here he was born in 1769. His birthplace, the Maison Bonaparte, now houses a museum and he was baptized in the city’s cathedral. The city centre is cosy with its narrow streets and beautiful old houses. Directly on the waterfront is the imposing citadel, which for military reasons can only be admired from the outside. Beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters invite you to spend a relaxing day at the beach in Ajaccio.
