Polferries: New Baltic Sea ferry VARSOVIA put into service

New flagship on the Świnoujście-Ystad route

Polferries has put the VARSOVIA, a new, impressive Baltic Sea ferry, into operation.
Since July 27, 2024, the ship has been serving the route between Świnoujście in Poland and Ystad in southern Sweden.
The VARSOVIA is the largest and longest ship in the Polferries fleet and represents the shipping company’s first newbuild in over 20 years.

Comfort on board

The VARSOVIA offers space for 976 passengers and has 230 cabins.
On board you will find a spacious catering area with a bar and restaurant, a store and an entertainment area.
For those who don’t need a place to sleep, there are 107 air seats available, which are similar to those in airplanes.

Technical details

With a length of 216.2 meters and a width of 28.2 meters, the VARSOVIA is a real powerhouse.
The vehicle decks offer space for 2875 loading meters.
The ferry is powered by two Wärtsilä dual-fuel engines, which have an output of 23,160 kW and enable a speed of up to 22 knots.

Modern design

The VARSOVIA belongs to the latest variant of the well-known Visentini class and is structurally similar to Corsica Linea ‘s ferry A GALEOTTA, which was delivered in 2022, but is 10 meters longer.
With this modern equipment, Polferries is setting new standards in ferry traffic on the Baltic Sea.
