GNV POLARIS starts test drives
New GNV building at sea
The GNV POLARIS, the first of four newbuilds for Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV), has left the shipyard in Guangzhou, China, and has begun sea trials. The purpose of these test voyages is to put all of the ship’s systems through their paces before it goes into liner service. The 218-metre-long Ferry has space for 1,500 passengers in 303 cabins and can transport both freight and vehicles on 3,100 loading meters.
Connection between the mainland and Mallorca
The GNV POLARIS will take over the connection between Valencia on the Spanish mainland and Palma de Mallorca on the Balearic Islands. The ship is scheduled to be handed over to GNV before the end of 2024.
Forward-looking fleet
The GNV POLARIS will be followed by three more newbuilds. The last two ships in this series will be particularly environmentally friendly, as they can be powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas). This shows that GNV is not only focusing on modern ships, but is also investing in sustainable drive technologies.
GNV Ferry Book a flight from Valencia to Mallorca
Even though the new GNV Polaris is not yet in service, the Ferry from Valencia to Palma de Mallorca can already be booked.
