The Tirrenia shipping company
In 2011, the former state-owned company was sold as part of a privatization, and since 2015 Tirrenia has been fully owned by the Onorato shipping company. The company’s Fähreoperate on the Tyrrhenian Sea, connecting the Italian mainland with Sardinia and Sicily. The entire fleet has been thoroughly modernised in recent years, with particular emphasis on the highest standards of safety and reliability.

On board the Tirrenia fleet, restaurants and bars provide for the physical well-being of the passengers. Variety and quality are offered by à la carte restaurants and self-service restaurants. Regionality is in the foreground here, the offer is oriented towards Sardinian and Sicilian cuisine. Bar and cafeteria offer breakfast, snacks and a good cup of Italian coffee.
Entertainment is provided by a shopping area where typical regional products can be purchased. A movie theater also provides entertainment, a contract with Warner Bros makes it possible to see films just 90 days after the premiere. Children enjoy a carefree crossing in the well-equipped children’s area.
On board the Tirrenia ships, you don’t have to do without peace, comfort and privacy even on day trips. Here you can choose between comfortable armchairs, cabins and suites. All cabins on board are spacious and promise relaxed travel. If you wish, you can have lunch or dinner in your cabin. A special catering service makes this pleasant comfort possible. Specially equipped cabins allow carefree travel for people with disabilities. Special pet cabins are also available.
