The Spirit of Tasmania shipping company is part of TT Line Company Pty Ltd. With the Tasmania I and the Tasmania II, the shipping company owns two twin ships that connect the Australian mainland with the island of Tasmania. The shipping company was founded in 1985 and is still a state-owned company, wholly owned by the Tasmanian government.

Major Spirit of Tasmania ferry routes
The shipping company’s two Ferries are in operation on the route from Melbourne to Devonport. They depart from both ports at 7.30 p.m. all year round and reach their destination at around 6.00 a.m. the next morning. During the peak season, additional day crossings are offered from December to April. Up to 1,400 passengers and 500 vehicles can be accommodated on board.

Each of the 222 well-appointed cabins promises a quiet retreat. Comfortable travel loungers can also be booked as part of a private lounge. Wheelchair-accessible cabins and loungers are available for passengers with special needs. Pets are welcome on board subject to entry requirements and will be housed in an appropriate kennel during the crossing.
