The shipping company Destination Gotland
The Swedish shipping company Destination Gotland was founded in 1998. The company is based in Visby on Gotland. It is a subsidiary of Rederi AB Gotland and connects the Swedish mainland with the island of Gotland via its Ferries. The shipping company’s four high-speed vessels are operated on behalf of the Swedish state and carry up to 1.7 million passengers and 560,000 cars annually. The agreement is valid until 2027. The Ferries are among the most modern in Europe. The company is proud of its certified environmental protection system, which aims to reduce the environmental impact of the ships. This is achieved with the aid of catalytic flue gas cleaning and operation with low-sulphur fuels.
