The Baltrum Line shipping company
The German shipping company Baltrumlinie GmbH was founded in 1928 by the three Baltrumers Ulrich Albers, Ulrich Meyer and Johann Küper. Its Ferries are in operation between the mainland and the island of Baltrum and carry around 140,000 passengers and 8,000 tons of freight every year. The shipping company is based in Baltrum.
Baltrum in every season
With the Baltrum I and III, a total of two passenger ships are in operation for the shipping company. They offer space for around 1,000 and 375 passengers respectively. Snacks and drinks are provided during the crossing. As a supply ship, the Baltrum II only has room for 25 passengers. As part of a special timetable, the Baltrum IV jet boat offers fast crossings to the island. With a draught of only 58 centimetres, it can also be used as a water taxi. People with reduced mobility can easily access Ferries on scheduled services via barrier-free access bridges. Dogs are welcome on board – with the appropriate ticket.
Major Baltrum Line Ferry Routes
The shipping company’s ships connect the coastal resort of Neßmersiel with the island of Baltrum on a single route. Depending on the time of year, the 30-minute crossing is offered one to three times a day. The departure times vary depending on the tide. In the months from April to October, additional trips to the islands of Norderney, Langeoog and Spiekeroog are on the program.
