- From the north (via the E75): Ferry along the E75 towards Athens. Follow the signs to Piraeus via the A1/E75 and then at the end take the Leof road. Poseidonos, which takes you directly to the ferry port.
- From the west (via the E94): Ferry along the E94 towards Athens and then change to the E75/A1 towards Piraeus at exit 8B. Then drive as described above.
- From the east (Attica Road): Ferry along the Attica Road (A6) and then change at exit 8 onto the E75/A1 towards Piraeus. Then drive as described above.
Arrival by bus & train

Arriving by car on the island of Naxos
As Naxos is a small island, all roads are relatively easily accessible and lead to the harbor. Just follow the signs to the main town of Naxos and from there to the ferry port.
Arrival by bus
The local bus company KTEL offers connections between various places on the island and the main town of Naxos. From here it is only a few minutes’ walk to the ferry port.
Arrival by plane
- Naxos Airport (JNX): Naxos Airport offers flights from Athens and other islands. From the airport, you can take a cab to the ferry port or use the local bus.

Check-in and departure at the ports
Check-in closes 60 minutes before departure, so you should be at the port in good time, whether in Piraeus or on Naxos. In Piraeus, the ferry port is large and well signposted, but it can get crowded. Allow plenty of time to get from the entrance to the right pier. The port of Naxos is more manageable, but here too it is advisable to arrive early, especially in high season. Have your booking confirmation ready, whether digital or printed.
On board the Ferries
Depending on the provider, you will ferry with Blue Star Ferries or SeaJets. The crossing takes around 4.5 to 5 hours. You can sit on deck, relax in air-conditioned lounges or, depending on your booking, use a fixed seat or cabin. Wi-Fi is usually available, but can be slow. There are cafés, snacks and usually also hot meals. You can move freely around the ship and enjoy the view of the Aegean Sea. Charging of electrical devices is possible at many seats.
