Port Tarifa
The British overseas territory of Gibraltar lies on a headland in the south of Spain. Visible from afar, it is overlooked by the 426-metre-high Rock of Gibraltar. The cable car takes you up, the view is unique: two seas, three countries and two continents – monkeys included! In Gibraltar’s fortress complex, the remains of a Moorish castle and walk-through tunnels from the 18th century can be discovered. At Europa Point, Africa is already within reach, with a lighthouse and a small restaurant inviting you to enjoy the view across to Morocco on clear days.
