Getting to the ferry port Seyðisfjörður by car
The ferry port Seyðisfjörður is located in the east of Iceland and can be reached via the ring road (Route 1) and Route 93. Route 93 is the main connection to Seyðisfjörður and leads from Egilsstaðir over the mountains into the city. Note that the road may be closed in winter and in bad weather, as it passes through high-altitude and weather-prone areas.
- From Reykjavík: Drive east on the ring road (Route 1) to Egilsstaðir. In Egilsstaðir, change to Route 93 and follow it to Seyðisfjörður.
- From Akureyri: Follow the ring road (Route 1) eastwards to Egilsstaðir. In Egilsstaðir, change to Route 93, which leads directly to Seyðisfjörður.
- From Höfn: Take the ring road (Route 1) north to Egilsstaðir. In Egilsstaðir, take route 93 to Seyðisfjörður.
