Arrival by car

The Scrabster ferry terminal in Thurso is easily accessible via various roads:

  • From the south (Inverness): Ferry north on the A9. Follow the road through Wick and on to Thurso. From Thurso follow the signs to Scrabster and Queen Elizabeth Pier.
  • From the west (Ullapool): Use the A835 towards Inverness and then turn off onto the A9, which will take you to Thurso. From there, follow the signs to Scrabster.
  • From the east (Wick): Ferry along the A99 and then the A9 towards Thurso. In Thurso follow the signs to Scrabster Harbour.

Arrival by bus and train

Thurso is the most northerly station on the British rail network. There are regular trains from Inverness to Thurso. From Thurso station you can reach the Scrabster ferry port by cab or a short bus ride.

There are also bus services from Inverness and other towns in the north of Scotland to Thurso. You can also take a cab or bus to the port from the bus station in Thurso.

Arrival by plane
