- From Milan (northeast): Ferry south on the A7 highway and then change to the E25 in the direction of San Nicolo. There you change once again to the E80 or the SS1 towards Savona. The SS1 is a little more scenic and takes you directly to the ferry port of Savona (Vado Ligure).
- From the direction of Genoa (east): Ferry west on the E80 highway to Savona. The ferry port in Vado Ligure is signposted.
- From the direction of Turin (northwest): Take the highway E717 south to Savona. From there, take the E80 southwest to the ferry port, which is well signposted.
- From Nice (west): Head east on the E80 or the SS1 to the ferry port of Savona.
