Port Piraeus
Piraeus has the largest port in the eastern Mediterranean. From the Kastela hill there is a magnificent view over the town, the harbour and the azure sea. A stroll through the narrow streets leads past lovingly restored neoclassical splendour from the 19th century. The ruins of the Long Walls date back to ancient times. It was once their job to secure the five-kilometer road to Athens. Those who are enthusiastic about this era can learn a lot of interesting facts about it in the Archaeological Museum. After culture and history, Piraeus offers its visitors all the advantages of a vibrant city with its shopping streets, market hall, spice markets, restaurants and bars.
