New ferry connection between Paldiski and Kapellskär
Tallink Silja Line expands its offer
Tallink Grupp has announced that its ferry ship Star will operate between Paldiski in Estonia and Kapellskär in Sweden from February 9, 2025. Returning from a charter voyage from Ireland, Star will not only offer an improved passenger experience, but also more capacity for cargo traffic.
Comfortable traveling by car
The Star is particularly interesting for car travelers who want to avoid the capital cities of Estonia or Sweden. On some days of the week, it is even possible to make two crossings a day between the two countries. In addition to freight, the Ferry will mainly carry car passengers, as the cargo ships Regal Star and Sailor will temporarily remain in the port of Paljassaare in Tallinn.
More comfort on board
Passengers on the Star can look forward to an improved offering. There is a buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner, a light dining concept and an enhanced shopping experience. Families will also get their money’s worth, as the Ferry has a children’s play area.
Modernized and ready for use
Before its deployment, the Star is overhauled in dry dock in Naantali, Finland, and prepared for its new route. The ship, which previously sailed between Ireland and the UK as the James Joyce, is thus returning to the Baltic Sea.
Almost daily connections between Estonia and Sweden
With the new timetable, Star complements the cruise ferry Baltic Queen, which operates between Tallinn and Stockholm. This enables almost daily ferry connections between Estonia and Sweden.
